Wives – 2

A wife of noble character … She makes linen garments and sells them, and supplies the merchants with sashes.

She is clothed with strength and dignity; she can laugh at the days to come.

She speaks with wisdom, and faithful instruction is on her tongue.

She watches over the affairs of her household and does not eat the bread of idleness.

Her children arise and call her blessed; her husband also, and he praises her: “Many women do noble things, but you surpass them all.”

Charm is deceptive, and beauty is fleeting; but a woman who fears the LORD is to be praised. Give her the reward she has earned, and let her works bring her praise at the city gate.

Submit to one another out of reverence for Christ.

Wives, submit to your husbands as to the Lord. For the husband is the head of the wife as Christ is the head of the church, his body, of which he is the Savior.  Now as the church submits to Christ, so also wives should submit to their husbands in everything.

When the king’s edict is proclaimed throughout all his vast realm, all the women will respect their husbands, from the least to the greatest. … and the wife must respect her husband.

I am wondering why we cannot print the page of scripture. Sometimes it would be nice to have those scriptures together on one page that we can have with us at all times. Thank you for the encouraging words of the scriptures. We appreciate them.

Hi, do so appreciate your work – thank you 🙂

Just a friendly query regarding the context of Es 1:20 in the Wives 2 devotion..?

      Hey Alex,

Thanks for the kind words and feedback. As to your Es 1:20 question, I’m not sure what you’re asking. If you are inquiring about what “Es” means, it’s an abbreviation for “Esther.” You can find all of the abbreviations that I’m using for each of the books of the Bible by clicking on the “NT abbreviations” or the “OT abbreviations” tabs at the top of the home page. Of course, “NT” is an abbreviation for “New Testament” and “OT” for “Old Testament.” If you have any other questions, do let me know. Blessings.

      Dr. Walt
