Trustworthy consumer websites for PRESCRIPTION drug info

How can you make informed choices about prescription drugs? For one thing, don’t get all your drug information from ads or labels! So, where can you turn?

More Information:

The LA Times recommends  that you check out websites such as these:

  • Rx Facts, run by the Independent Drug Information Service, which is sponsored by the Pennsylvania Department of Aging and has no ties to any pharmaceutical companies, OR
  • Consumer Reports Health, run by Consumer Reports, which also gets no support from pharmaceutical companies.

I also recommend this site:

  • Epocrates, a site I use on my iPhone everyday in the clinic. They have an online site that’s available at no charge to you here. Epocrates also gets no support from pharmaceutical companies.
