That you may be overjoyed when his glory is revealed

We proclaim to you what we have seen and heard, so that you also may have fellowship with us. And our fellowship is with the Father and with his Son, Jesus Christ. We write this to make our joy complete.

It has given me great joy to find some of your children walking in the truth, just as the Father commanded us. … It gave me great joy to have some believers come and testify to your faithfulness to the truth, telling how you continue to walk in it. … I have no greater joy than to hear that my children are walking in the truth. … I hope to visit you and talk with you face to face, so that our joy may be complete.

Though you have not seen him, you love him; and even though you do not see him now, you believe in him and are filled with an inexpressible and glorious joy, for you are receiving the end result of your faith, the salvation of your souls. … To him who is able to keep you from stumbling and to present you before his glorious presence without fault and with great joy—to the only God our Savior be glory, majesty, power and authority, through Jesus Christ our Lord, before all ages, now and forevermore! Amen.
