1) Would you consider helping me launch my next book?

I’m excited to tell you on October 6, 2020, I’ll be releasing a book about my practice days in Kissimmee (1985-2001), “The Best Medicine: Tales of Humor and Hope from a Small-Town Doctor.” I’d love to have you consider joining a special team of folks who will help me tell their family and friends about it. Team members get to:

  • Read a free copy of my book before anyone else
    • Be a part of a private Facebook page with me
    • Get exclusive access to me to ask questions
    • Be part of video conference interviews with some of the book’s most memorable characters
    • Feel great knowing that you’re helping me minister to readers

For more details, email me at

2) Recent podcast interview

I was blessed to do a podcast with Captain Andy Miller of the Tampa Salvation Army. We talked about my latest book, “Fit over 50: Make Simple Choices Today for a Healthier, Happier You.” Here are a couple of links to the interview. I hope you enjoy it.

3) Recent prayer video for people wrestling with cancer

I was honored to join NFL star Kurt Warner, actor Kirk Cameron, and Christian recording artist, Francesca Battistelli in a wonderful effort called 30 Days of Cancer Prayer. I had been asked to do a short video prayer for cancer patients going through radiation, and I was delighted to do so. Then, I received this sweet note from them:

Hi Walt,

I just wanted to extend our heartfelt thanks for participating in our 30 Days of Cancer Prayer event. We have already touched over 46,000 lives and the numbers are still growing! Can you believe it?! We wanted to make sure we sent you links to your prayer video for you to share if you needed. Below are links to your prayer video on Facebook and YouTube.

4) Today’s Christian Living “Ask Dr. Walt” column

The Impossible and Beyond Burgers

I keep reading articles about the fake meats that are popping up in many grocery stores and restaurants. Are they actually healthier than real meat for me and the environment?

5) Answers to Last Month’s Prayers

  • Every Wednesday evening, we have eight Re-Engage small-groups meeting. Barb and I have six delightful couples in our group. Thanks for praying for protection for these couples as they wrestle with strengthening their marriages. Our six couples are doing great and growing in leaps and bounds. Please keep them in your prayers.
  • Feb 7: I had a Morning Star Development Board Meeting via conference call. Thanks for praying for wisdom for our group. Unfortunately, the Board learned some challenging news. Because of the ministry in Afghanistan, Board and Directors’ Insurance is no longer available. After seeking spiritual and legal counsel, I was sad to have to inform the Board and CEO that I had to resign until the situation could be rectified. I’m praying that they’ll find the coverage they need for Board members.
  • Most of the month I spent writing and I SO appreciate your prayers for me during this time. I’m happy to tell you that I successfully finished the final edits of “The Best Medicine: Tales of Humor and Hope from a Small-Town Doctor” and was just able to turn in the manuscript for “The Natural Medications Handbook: The Truth About the Most Effective Herbs, Vitamins, and Supplements for Common Conditions.” Whew! What a great relief to have these two books in the hands of the professional at Revell Publishers.

6) Prayer Requests for Upcoming Events

  • Every Wednesday evening this month, we’ll continue with Sessions #6-9 with our eight Re-Engage small-groups meetings. Please continue to pray for wisdom and protection for these 45 couples. Several are continuing to wrestle with strengthening their marriages and three couples, we’re told, are on the brink of divorce. Please pray consistently for them.
  • March 26-28: Barb and I will be in Cincinnati where I’ll teach two seminars at the national meeting of the Christian Community Health Fellowship (CCHF).
  • March 29-31: We’ll stay with our dear friends, Sam and Nancy Cunningham, and I’ll speak at their church on Sunday and then at a CMDA student luncheon on Monday.
