Reuters is reporting that Kmart is cutting prices and expanding its generic prescription drug program to include more than 500 common medications as of June 22.
This is part of a continuing good news story. For many of my patients, the Target, Wal-Mart, or Kmart drugs covered under these programs are less expensive than their insurance co-pay.
I, for one, am cheering these corporations for this – which will allow many patients to obtain nearly 1000 generic treatments for $4 – $5 for a 30-day prescription or $10 for a three-month supply.
Now, if we could just get doctors and hospitals to do the same.
