High-protein diet helps people lose more weight

Reuters reports on a new study appearing in the American Journal of Clinical Nutrition, which found that generally, people who eat foods high in protein may shed more weight than those who consume more carbohydrates and less protein.

The research, which analyzed past studies, found that on average, people who were on high-protein diets lost approximately 1.8 additional pounds after 12 weeks than those who were on a standard protein diet.
