Empty Nest

Be still, and know that I am God.

Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of compassion and the God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our troubles. … I will make you the everlasting pride and the joy of all generations. … The Lord will guide you always; he will satisfy your needs in a sun-scorched land and will strengthen your frame. You will be like a well-watered garden, like a spring whose waters never fail.

Be content with what you have, because God has said, “Never will I leave you; never will I forsake you.” … Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? … For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.

Set your hearts on things above, where Christ is, seated at the right hand of God. … Devote yourselves to prayer, being watchful and thankful. … Since you know that you will receive an inheritance from the Lord as a reward. It is the Lord Christ you are serving. … Rejoice in the wife of your youth. … Enjoy life with your wife. … And my God will meet all your needs according to the riches of his glory in Christ Jesus. … May the Lord of peace himself give you peace at all times and in every way. The Lord be with all of you.
