Blessed Assurance – 1

I know whom I have believed, and am convinced that he is able to guard what I have entrusted to him for that day.

Those who have served well gain an excellent standing and great assurance in their faith in Christ Jesus. … In him and through faith in him we may approach God with freedom and confidence.

My purpose is that they may be encouraged in heart and united in love, so that they may have the full riches of complete understanding, in order that they may know the mystery of God, namely, Christ, in whom are hidden all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge. I tell you this so that no one may deceive you by fine-sounding arguments.

Therefore, brothers and sisters, since we have confidence to enter the Most Holy Place by the blood of Jesus, by a new and living way opened for us through the curtain, that is, his body, and since we have a great priest over the house of God, let us draw near to God with a sincere heart and with the full assurance that faith brings, having our hearts sprinkled to cleanse us from a guilty conscience and having our bodies washed with pure water. Let us hold unswervingly to the hope we profess, for he who promised is faithful. … The one who calls you is faithful, and he will do it. … So do not throw away your confidence; it will be richly rewarded.
