“Be strong and work. For I am with you,” declares the Lord Almighty

I am the vine; you are the branches. If you remain in me and I in you, you will bear much fruit; apart from me you can do nothing. … I can do all this through him who gives me strength.

Be strong and courageous, and do the work. Do not be afraid or discouraged, for the LORD God, my God, is with you. He will not fail you or forsake you. … Be strong in the LORD and in his mighty power. … For the joy of the LORD is your strength. … You are to rejoice before the LORD your God in everything you put your hand to.

This is what the LORD Almighty says: “Now hear these words, “Let your hands be strong.” … Strengthen the feeble hands, steady the knees that give way; say to those with fearful hearts, “Be strong, do not fear; your God will come, he will come with vengeance; with divine retribution he will come to save you.” … The LORD turned to him and said, “Go in the strength you have … Am I not sending you?”

If God is for us, who can be against us? … Therefore, since through God’s mercy we have this ministry, we do not lose heart. … Therefore we do not lose heart. Though outwardly we are wasting away, yet inwardly we are being renewed day by day.

Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up. … But thanks be to God! He gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.

    Dr. Walt,
I met you and Barb at the CRU reunion in BR last September, honoring Earle and Judy Carpenter.
Tonight I did your July 30 Morning Glory and God spoke to me in a powerful way…apart from HIM I can do nothing, which I have read and studied for 43 years…I think I am finally seeing the truth of John 15. NOTHING means NOTHING. To quote Don Tabb ” nothing is a zero with the edges rubbed off”.
I am now 68 and I hope, till the day he takes me home, that my heart will remain tender and teachable towards Jesus as I continue to ponder on what it means to abide in him and he in me.
Thank you for your faithfulness in writing these devotionals.
    Shalom, Hilda
