A Drink

Jesus stood and said in a loud voice, “Let anyone who is thirsty come to me and drink.”

My soul yearns, even faints, for the courts of the LORD; my heart and my flesh cry out for the living God. … You, God, are my God, earnestly I seek you; I thirst for you, my whole being longs for you, in a dry and parched land where there is no water. I have seen you in the sanctuary and beheld your power and your glory. … My soul thirsts for God, for the living God. When can I go and meet with God?

For I will pour water on the thirsty land, and streams on the dry ground; I will pour out my Spirit on your offspring, and my blessing on your descendants.

Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they will be filled. … Whoever believes in me, as Scripture has said, rivers of living water will flow from within them. … My blood is real drink.

I have come into my garden, my sister, my bride; I have gathered my myrrh with my spice. I have eaten my honeycomb and my honey; I have drunk my wine and my milk. … For the Lamb at the center of the throne will be their shepherd; he will lead them to springs of living water. And God will wipe away every tear from their eyes. … He said to me: “It is done. I am the Alpha and the Omega, the Beginning and the End. To the thirsty I will give water without cost from the spring of the water of life.”
