Study: Men treated more aggressively for knee pain from arthritis

ABC World News reported that when it comes to treatment for pain, “we heard today that women are often not treated the same way as men. Their complaints are ignored.”

ABC News correspondent Cecilia Vega explained, “One study found when men and women report the same pain; men are treated much more aggressively, while women receive misdiagnosis, improper and unproven treatments, and neglect.”

Vega added, “To relieve knee pain from arthritis, doctors are 22 times more likely to recommend that a man get surgery than a woman.”

Vega advised viewers, “If you’re not being heard, get a second opinion or a third, fourth or fifth, if necessary.”

I agree.
