Does Andro400 (Malaysian ginseng) boost testosterone in men?

Andro400 is a new supplement used for boosting testosterone, building muscle, losing weight, and improving sexual performance in men.

It contains Eurycoma longifolia, also known as Malaysian ginseng or Tongkat ali, which is traditionally used to increase male virility and strength.

Does it work?

According to the experts at the Natural Medicines Comprehensive Database, “research is sketchy. Preliminary evidence suggests it might cause a short-term increase in testosterone. But long-term effects and safety are not known.”

Keep in mind that if it does significantly boost testosterone there is a risk for testosterone-related side effects such as acne, insulin resistance, live toxicity, and others.

  1. Margie says:

My father has been diagnosed with prostate cancer. It has spread through his spine. His treatment includes castration (chemical) to prevent testosterone production. Dad’s oncologist told us that prostate cancer is slow growing and if caught early it is easy to treat. Dad’s cancer is too advanced to expect a cure. He would like to warn men (especially older men who are suseptible to advertisements about loss of sexual drive and abilities) that testosterone is the fuel for prostate cancer. If Andro400 increases testosterone it seems that it might spur the growth of metastatic prostate cancer. It does not seem worth the risk. Dad would like to warn everyone of this possibility.
