Healthy Fats? They Exist!

All fats shouldn’t be treated equal. Your body craves certain “healthy” fats, which are unsaturated fats mostly found in plant-based foods.

The womenshealth.gov website says these foods are good sources of “healthy” fats:

  • Olive, canola and peanut oils.
  • Most types of nuts.
  • Avocados.
  • Safflower and sunflower oils.
  • Corn oil, soybean oil and cottonseed oil.
  • Fatty fish, such as salmon, mackerel and trout, as well as flaxseed, all of which are good sources of omega-3 fatty acids.
