“When it comes to natural medicines, such as herbs, vitamins, and dietary supplements, you want to make sure you’re getting the truth about what works, what is safe, and what is a waste of money. You need evidence-based, trustworthy, unbiased sources and studies so that you can make wise decisions for yourself and your family.”

“In consultation with the experts at ConsumerLab.com and Natural MedicinesTM, Dr. Walt Larimore has combed the available research from around the globe to evaluate almost 1,300 natural medicines or interventions for about 500 conditions or indications. Featuring many helpful charts and tables, this reliable guide will tell you what natural medicines have proven to be both safe and effective while suggesting the best-value ‘Top Picks’ for [a number of] health issues.”

2) The Natural Medicines Handbook soars to #1 on Amazon.com in two categories

I’m over-the-moon delighted that The Natural Medicines Handbook became an Amazon.com #1 best seller in two categories and #1 new release in one category. Wow!

Two of my other books have also reached Amazon.com #1 New Release status in more than one category:

3) Janet Parshall’s National Radio Program

On April 14, I spent an hour on Janet Parshall‘s National Radio Program, In the Market, on the Moody Radio Network discussing my latest book, The Natural Medicines Handbook: The Truth about the Most Effective Herbs, Vitamins, and Supplements for Common Conditions. Janet advertised the show this way:

When it comes to natural medicines, such as herbs, vitamins, and dietary supplements, you want to make sure you’re getting the truth about what works, what is safe, and what is a waste of money. Hear from our guest today who has combed the available research from around the globe to evaluate about 1300 natural medicines or interventions for more than 500 conditions or indications. Join us as we discuss brain and heart health, energy and fatigue, losing weight and so much more. Come with your questions!

You can download or listen to our interesting and fast-paced discussion here. It was this program that almost singlehandedly propelled the book to #1 on Amazon.com in two categories.

4) Coming this fall – “Ask Dr. Walt” on Liftable TV

I’m delighted to tell you that I’ve begun videotaping episodes of a new TV show, Ask Dr. Walt, that will be launched this fall on a new cable/streaming channel, LiftableTV.

I’ll post more details as they become available. But, until then, here’s a link to the first trailer for the show, produced by the very talented Derek Packard: DrWalt Trailer 1 – Medium.

5) COVID Vaccines addressed in my “Ask Dr. Walt” column in Today’s Christian Living

I enjoy being able to answer questions from the readers of Today’s Christian Living magazine in my “Ask Dr. Walt” column. Here is my Q&A from the May 2021 issue. The questions I address are listed below. I hope you’ll consider getting a subscription:

  • Will the Moderna or Pfizer COVID vaccines alter my DNA?
  • What are the risks of long-term side effects of COVID infection versus the vaccine?
  • Which vaccines were developed with fetal cell tissue, and are they ethical?
  • Which COVID vaccine is safest and most effective?
  • Who should not get a COVID-19 vaccine shot?
  • Should I wait for herd immunity instead of getting a vaccine shot?
  • If I’ve already had COVID-19, do I need a shot?
  • How effective are the COVID vaccines against all the various strains?

6) Answers to Last Month’s Prayers

  • April 23 Barb and I flew to Dallas where I spoke for the annual fundraising banquet for The Source for Women’s Health, a faith-based full-service women’s health clinic empowering women with better choices. It was a delightful evening and we had wonderful visits with our niece, Laura Birnbaum, old friend Julie Partin, PhD, and the fellow who led me to Christ about 50 years ago, Rich McGee and his wife Bonnie.
  • April 24-27 we were in Atlanta to visit with our son, Scott, and his family. It was a delight. We also have a wonderful visit with old friends Paul and Julie Lyons (Paul was in our wedding).
  • Thanks for continuing to pray for the 22 couples participating in our ReEngage Marriage Enrichment Program and for the four leader couples. Several couples are struggling, but we sense your prayers are powerful and effective for them. And, it looks like 21 of our 22 couples are going to both graduate and participate in a recommitment ceremony.

7) Prayer Requests for Upcoming Events

  • Would you continue to join me in praying for three of my books that are in process?
  • Once again, will you keep our ReEngage Marriage Enrichment Program couples and leaders in your prayers? Our final recommitment ceremony is Wednesday, May 12. Hallelujah!
  • Friday morning, May 17, I’ll be attending the Board Meeting for Morning Star Development. Obviously, with the announcement of the withdrawal of U.S. troops from Afghanistan, this group’s wonderful work in that country may be in danger. Prayers for wisdom and guidance will be appreciated.
  • Friday, May 17, we’ll also be videotaping four more episodes of my new TV show, “Ask Dr. Walt.”
