Saturday Book Report – The video of my national presentation about my WWII book is ready for you

This last Wednesday, October 5, 2002, I had the privilege to address a national audience to talk about my WWII book, At First Light: A True World War II Story of a Hero, His Bravery, and an Amazing Horse. If you missed it, you can view a recording of it here. I  was honored to present a Zoom lecture for the Army Heritage Education Center Foundation in Carlisle, PA. The lecture, At First Light: A True World War II Story of a Hero, His Bravery, and an Amazing Horse.

You can view the presentation here. After you do, leave me a comment to let me know what you think.

Here’s the AHEC announcement before the presentation:

Dr. Walt Larimore will chronicle the story of his father,  Phil Latimore who grew up in the 1930s in Memphis, Tennessee. Sent by his parents to a military academy, after Pearl Harbor, Phil realizes he is destined for war. Three weeks before his eighteenth birthday, he becomes the youngest-ever candidate to graduate from Officer Candidate School (OCS) at Fort Benning, Georgia.

Serving with the 3rd Infantry Division, he lands at the Anzio beachhead in February 1944 and fights his way up the Italian boot, into Southern France, and across the Rhine River into Germany.

Phil;s experiences in the last weeks of the war are most compelling. An emotional tale of courage, daring, and heroism, At First Light will remind you of the indomitable human spirit that lives in all of us.

I’ll hope you’ll enjoy watching it.
