1) “At First Light” – Six weeks and counting to the April 19 release
The WWII book about my father and his exploits, “At First Light: A True World War II Story of a Hero, His Bravery, and an Amazing Horse,” will be released on April 19. You can pre-order it on Amazon.
2) “At First Light” – World Premiere on April 6
A potential World Premiere for “At First Light” is scheduled in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, on Thursday and Friday, April 6-7, to coincide with the opening of the renovated LSU WWII Museum in the LSU Memorial Tower.
- THURSDAY, APRIL 7
- 230-315 PM: A book table and book signing on the Parade Ground at LSU before a President’s Day Event
- 315-430 PM: A walking tour of some of dad’s favorite places at LSU
- 700-800 PM: Grand Opening of the LSU Military Museum in the LSU Memorial Tower
- 800-1000 PM: A book table and book signing outside the Military Museum
- FRIDAY, APRIL 8
- Time TBD: A book signing at the LSU Barnes & Noble College Bookstore

I’m really pleased with the “dust cover” for the hand cover edition of “At First Light” and wanted you to be one of the first folks to see it. You may have to double click on it to read it.
5) Answers to Last Month’s Prayers
- Feb 3-8, Barb and I were in Atlanta where I spoke at the “Faith and Medicine Conference” on Friday, February 4, and then we had a wonderful visit with Scott, Jen, and our granddaughters.
- Feb 17-23, Barb and I made a travel swing through south Florida which was absolutely delightful:
- Feb 17-18, I spoke at several events at Palm Beach Atlantic University, all of which were a blessing.
- Feb 19: We drove the Tamiami Trail across the Everglades and took several wonderful hikes.
- Feb 19-20, we visited friends in Naples and Bonita Springs. On Sunday morning, I spoke briefly at the two services at First Presbyterian Church of Bonita Springs and had two well-attended book signings.
- Feb 21, we toured Sanibel and Captiva Islands (world-class shelling) as well as the winder homes of Thomas Edison and Henry Ford.
- Feb 21-22, we visited with friends in Bradenton as well as the winter home of John Ringling and the Ringling Brothers Circus museums. We had an amazing time.
- Feb 23, we flew home. We left Florida at 84 degrees and landed in Colorado at 4 degrees. What a whiplash.
6) Prayer Requests for Upcoming Events
- Mar 7-9, Barb and I will be in Las Vegas to celebrate my 70th The rest of the month I’ll devote myself to organizing all of my research materials for my dad’s book and continue to pray and prepare for the release of the book on April 19.
