The Lord does not look at the things human beings look at

People look at the outward appearance, but the Lord looks at the heart … he knows our hearts, for he alone knows every human heart.

The heart is deceitful above all things and beyond cure. Who can understand it?

He did evil because he had not set his heart on seeking the Lord.

I the LORD search the heart and examine the mind, to reward everyone according to their conduct, according to what their deeds deserve.

I know how conceited you are and how wicked your heart is … (for) one whose heart is corrupt does not prosper …

The LORD saw how great the wickedness of the human race had become on the earth, and that every inclination of the thoughts of the human heart was only evil all the time … The LORD … said in his heart … every inclination of the human heart is evil from childhood.

Before a downfall the heart is haughty, but humility comes before honor.
