Be Holy

Make every effort to live in peace with everyone and to be holy; without holiness no one will see the Lord. … Blessed are the pure in heart, for they will see God.

But now that you have been set free from sin and have become slaves of God, the benefit you reap leads to holiness, and the result is eternal life.

No one can see the kingdom of God unless they are born again. … Nothing impure will ever enter it, nor will anyone who does what is shameful or deceitful, but only those whose names are written in the Lamb’s book of life. … You are altogether beautiful, my darling; there is no flaw in you.

Be holy because I, the Lord your God, am holy. … You are to be holy to me because I, the Lord, am holy, and I have set you apart from the nations to be my own. … As obedient children, do not conform to the evil desires you had when you lived in ignorance. But just as he who called you is holy, so be holy in all you do; for it is written: “Be holy, because I am holy.” Since you call on a Father who judges each person’s work impartially, live out your time as foreigners here in reverent fear. … Put off your old self, which is being corrupted by its deceitful desires; to be made new in the attitude of your minds; and to put on the new self, created to be like God in true righteousness and holiness. … For he chose us in him before the creation of the world to be holy and blameless in his sight.
