Ransom – 1

The ransom for a life is costly. … You were bought at a price. … He will ransom you from death.

For the Lord will ransom Jacob and redeem them. … He provided redemption for his people—holy and awesome is his name. … For with the Lord is unfailing love and with him is full redemption. … This is what the Lord says: “Was my arm too short to ransom you? Do I lack the strength to rescue you? … I will ransom them from the power of the grave; I will redeem them from death.”

The Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many. … You were slain, and with your blood you purchased men for God from every tribe and language and people and nation. You have made them to be a kingdom and priests to serve our God. … How much more, then, will the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered himself unblemished to God, cleanse our consciences from acts that lead to death, so that we may serve the living God! For this reason Christ is the mediator of a new covenant, that those who are called may receive the promised eternal inheritance—now that he has died as a ransom to set them free from the sins committed under the first covenant.

This righteousness from God comes through faith in Jesus Christ to all who believe. There is no difference, for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, and are justified freely by his grace through the redemption that came by Christ Jesus. God presented him as a sacrifice of atonement.
