Above all, love each other deeply, because love covers over a multitude of sins.
Above all, you must understand that no prophecy of Scripture came about by the prophet’s own interpretation of things. … Above all, my brothers and sisters, do not swear—not by heaven or by earth or by anything else. All you need to say is a simple “Yes” or “No.” Otherwise you will be condemned. … Above all, you must understand that in the last days scoffers will come, scoffing and following their own evil desires.
Above all else, guard your heart, for everything you do flows from it. … The heart is deceitful above all things and beyond cure. Who can understand it? … For it is from within, out of a person’s heart, that evil thoughts come—sexual immorality, theft, murder, adultery, greed, malice, deceit, lewdness, envy, slander, arrogance and folly.
Yet the Lord set his affection on your ancestors and loved them, and he chose you, their descendants, above all the nations—as it is today. … But you are a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, God’s special possession, that you may declare the praises of him who called you out of darkness into his wonderful light.
If you fully obey the Lord your God and carefully follow all his commands I give you today, the Lord your God will set you high above all the nations on earth.
