Abide in Me

Remain in me, as I also remain in you. No branch can bear fruit by itself; it must remain in the vine. Neither can you bear fruit unless you remain in me.

I am the vine; you are the branches. If you remain in me and I in you, you will bear much fruit; apart from me you can do nothing. … If you remain in me and my words remain in you, ask whatever you wish, and it will be done for you. … As for you, see that what you have heard from the beginning remains in you. If it does, you also will remain in the Son and in the Father. … I have been crucified with Christ and I no longer live, but Christ lives in me. The life I now live in the body, I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me.

For I know that good itself does not dwell in me, that is, in my sinful nature. For I have the desire to do what is good, but I cannot carry it out. … What a wretched man I am! Who will rescue me from this body that is subject to death? Thanks be to God, who delivers me through Jesus Christ our Lord! … But if Christ is in you, then even though your body is subject to death because of sin, the Spirit gives life because of righteousness. … If you continue in your faith, established and firm, and do not move from the hope held out in the gospel.

And now, dear children, continue in him, so that when he appears we may be confident and unashamed before him at his coming. … Whoever claims to live in him must live as Jesus did.
