A Different Partner

Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.

This is what the Lord Almighty, the God of Israel, says … ”I will refresh the weary and satisfy the faint.”

Let anyone who is thirsty come to me and drink. Whoever believes in me, as Scripture has said, rivers of living water will flow from within them.

Remain in me, as I also remain in you. No branch can bear fruit by itself; it must remain in the vine. Neither can you bear fruit unless you remain in me. I am the vine; you are the branches. If you remain in me and I in you, you will bear much fruit; apart from me you can do nothing.

If you do not remain in me, you are like a branch that is thrown away and withers; such branches are picked up, thrown into the fire and burned. If you remain in me and my words remain in you, ask whatever you wish, and it will be done for you.

This is to my Father’s glory, that you bear much fruit, showing yourselves to be my disciples.

You are my friends if you do what I command. I no longer call you servants, because servants do not know their master’s business.

Instead, I have called you friends, for everything that I learned from my Father I have made known to you.

You did not choose me, but I chose you and appointed you so that you might go and bear fruit—fruit that will last.”

Mt 11:28-29, Je 31:23,25, Jh 7:37-38, Jh 15:4, Jh 15:14-16

After reading and re-reading this for several days as a servant recently forced to leave a hard place there is much peace in these words spoke by Christ and others. Father has been taking us me to some of these words for healing and you and others re-affirm them. Shalom and thanks. Bill
