Would you serve your kids three quarter pound hamburgers for dinner? Probably not. But they could eat the nutritional equivalent the next time you enjoy your favorite pizza.
With some brands, you can get a day’s worth of sodium and saturated fat with just two slices. And if you have teens, they don’t stop at two! A single slice can pack up to four hundred and twenty calories and twenty-one grams of fat.
If your family loves pizza, these bad numbers don’t have to mushroom. You can:
- order “lite” versions,
- use half the cheese, or
- at least order a veggie pizza.
If anything, take a bite out of fewer pieces — and order a slice of better health.
Here are some of my other blogs on pizza:
- Sodium levels in fast food items worst in the US
- TV ads for kids still heavy on unhealthy food
