You might be interested in knowing that I’m trying a first: I’ll be doing a one-man theatrical presentation only once, at 10 am on Sunday, December 20.I’ll be presenting the late David Sheldon’s wonderful one-act play, The Innkeeper’s Dream, at the Little Log Church in historic Palmer Lake, Colorado (north of Colorado Springs and south of Denver).
The Innkeeper’s Dream
It’s a perfect pre-Christmas event for the entire family and allows the Innkeeper, in whose stable Jesus was born, the opportunity to tell his side of an amazing story that literally changed human history.
There’s no charge to attend as the presentation is part of the morning worship service (it replaces the sermon), but I’d recommend arriving well before 10 am, as seating is limited.
This one-time performance is made possible by special arrangement with Mrs. David Shelton and David Shelton Ministries.
I first heard David’s performance of “The Innkeeper’s Dream” on a Focus on the Family broadcast in the 1990’s and then asked for (and received) permission to play it on my my final radio program on WDBO in Orlando, Florida.
I did not meet David until a number of years later, at a Legacy Institute Dinner in Seattle when David was in the final stages of Alzheimer’s Disease. It was a memorable evening for me.
Although David has graduated to glory, his ministry continues via his many recordings and DVD’s of his numerous one-man plays. Let me encourage you to visit his Web site.
I hope to see you there.
More About David Sheldon
As each has received a gift, use it to serve one another, as good stewards of God’s varied grace: whoever speaks, as one who speaks oracles of God; whoever serves, as one who serves by the strength that God supplies—in order that in everything God may be glorified through Jesus Christ. To him belong glory and dominion forever and ever. Amen. — 1 Peter 4:10-11.
David considered this scripture his Call to Ministry. He considered his dramatic and musical gifting as vehicles to share the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
From 1979 until 2006, David traveled over 500,000 miles making the Bible come to life by performing biblical characterizations; whole books of the Bible; allegorical storytelling and many mimes and inspiring songs.
David’s wonderful legacy is captured forever in our memories of him. He was gifted in Faith and lived for Jesus, both on stage and off.
His legacy lives on through his outstanding, inspiring performances. David’s wonderful performances live on through CD and DVD. The Apostle Peter, Jonah, Elijah, the books of Philippians and James, The Great King Trilogy and his Christmas Classic, The Innkeeper’s Dream.
