Some Internet sites say calcium and magnesium should be taken together. I have been, but now found a site that says not to. What say ye?

I come down on the side of those advocating you not take them together.
Although magnesium does not seem to affect calcium absorption, according to the experts at the Natural Medicines Comprehensive Database, “Calcium supplements can decrease the absorption of dietary magnesium.”
Another consumer protection group says, “In fact, if you need to take large amounts (250 mg or more) of either of these, you may be better off taking them at separate times, as they can compete with each other for absorption.”
