Monday Memo — Valentine’s Day Vindication for Dark Chocolate

You’re looking forward to Valentine’s Day this week and, in the back of your mind wonder, “Is chocolate healthy or not?” Glad you asked! Here are a few reasons you can enjoy your Valentine’s dark chocolate without guilt.

Dark chocolate has copper in it, which helps rejuvenate skin by promoting collagen formation. It also contains cancer-fighting antioxidants. In fact, it has five times the antioxidants as blueberries.

And ever wonder why eating dark chocolate is so enjoyable? Well, it stimulates the release of endorphins, which can relieve pain, reduce stress, and induce a sense of well-being.

I hope your Valentine’s Day is a chance to focus your attention on those you love and have a little less guilt about dark chocolate too. It shouldn’t replace fruits and vegetables, but there is some sweet news about its effect on your health.
