Monthly Family Update – August 2017

Here are the contents of this month’s newsletter:

  1. Dad’s Book
  2. Upcoming Events

1) Dad’s Book

Major Philip B. Larimore, Jr.

It was a quiet month. No speaking. No traveling. Just a chance for me to finish my first draft of the book about my father and his World War II exploits.

Once I finished it, and Barb did some terrific edits, we met with our agent, Greg Johnson, Founder and President of WordServe Literary. Greg shares our excitement about the book.

This month I’ll work on completing the second draft and when Greg looks at that he’ll decide whether to shop it as an entire manuscript or just to shop the proposal with several sample chapters.

You can read more about him here.

The tentative title is “Forgotten: World War II Stories about a Dogface soldier, his horses, and the 30th Infantry Regiment.”

It has been a long ten-year labor of love for me. I’m praying that it will make it into print. Your prayers would be appreciated.

2) Upcoming Events

  • Aug 4-9: Barb and I will be at Young Life’s Crooked Creek Ranch in the heart of the Rocky Mountains where I will serve as the camp doctor.
  • Aug 30 – Sep 3: We’ll be in Atlanta, GA, visiting the Decatur Larimores and our two granddaughters. We sure are looking forward to that!
