The CNN “The Chart” blog reported that a study published in the journal Obesity Facts “suggests small weight gains on weekends are normal, and as long as you can compensate during the week, indulging a bit may even help you lose weight long-term.”
HealthDay reports that the 80-participant study revealed that “those who consistently lost weight in the study tended to compensate more strictly during the week for their weekend weight gain.”
The study found that “their weight began decreasing immediately on Monday and continued downward until Friday, while people who tended to gain weight showed a weaker weekday compensation for the weekend’s indulgences.”
