I’ll ‘Never Forget’ My Dad, an American Hero – Memorial Day 2009
On this holiday weekend, as a country, we observe Memorial Day Day - which was first known as Decoration Day. It was meant to be a time to remember and honor our Civil War dead simply by decorating their graves. Over time, the holiday’s significance extended to remember and honor all those are serving and have served our great nation in the armed services. Now, as America is at war, Memorial Day also provides an opportunity for us to reflect on and give thanks for the sacrifices of our soldiers still in harm’s way.
