Children of Angelina Jolie, Brad Pitt Want to Know Why Their Parents Aren’t Married

Angelina Jolie says her children are asking why she and Brad Pitt aren’t married. According to CitizenLink, the 33-year-old actress told Italian Vanity Fair the kids want to know why Shrek and Fiona, characters from the movie Shrek, got married and she and Pitt haven’t.

More Information:

Jolie said, “We’ve done everything the wrong way around, but sooner or later the children will ask, you know, they watch films and ask questions.”

Jenny Tyree, marriage analyst for Focus on the Family Action, said the couple’s six children seem to understand the importance of marriage for their family.

“Their instinct is right-on,” she said. “If there’s one thing we’ve learned from the last 30 years of social-science data, it’s that kids thrive when their mom and dad are married to each other.

“It’s a shame that a couple so devoted to their children are not only depriving their family of the strength of the marital commitment, but that Brad Pitt has given a substantial donation to oppose California’s marriage amendment.”

If same-sex “marriage” remains legal in California, children will be confused not only about marriage, but about why they don’t have a mother and a father.

“We know that children raised by a homosexual couple desire a relationship with the biological parent they don’t know,” Tyree said. “How tragic that too many people see marriage as a vehicle for adult rights rather than a social institution with children at its heart.”

you are so right about this issue, specialy about the homosexual mariage. I admit the disastrous results of such unnatural manner on kids.but the effects on kids are different in not-married couples. because having baby is a natural event when the couple is made of a man and a woman .the marriage is a moral behavior, but not necessary for a biological act like giving birth to a child. so the effect should be so different from homosexual families and I think it will be less effective on their lives.
