John McCain Shares His Pro-Life Views, Blasts Obama on Late-Term Abortion

LifeNews.com reports that Sen. John McCain told an audience there that he is “proud” to be pro-life and defended his pro-life voting record. “I am proud of my record of protecting and advocating the rights of the unborn,” he said to strong applause from the audience. “I believe this is also an important issue.”
My Take?
I was happy to hear the Senator say, “Life means the rights of the born and the unborn. You can count on my active advocacy for the rights of the unborn.”
The Arizona senator also used the occasion to criticize Barack Obama on a topic that is upsetting to every pro-life voter who learns about it – namely Obama’s votes in the Illinois legislature against an infanticide bill.
Obama repeatedly voted against a measure that would required appropriate medical care for newborns who survive botched abortions or are purposefully born prematurely to be left to die.
Obama also opposed the national ban on partial-birth abortions. What does McCain believe about this horrific procedure?
McCain rightly said, “My friends, that’s a hideous procedure. It should never be allowed any place on earth,” he said. He went on to point out, The noblest words ever written were the rights to life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness that the founders of the nation set up.)
All of this is now reported in light to a Pew survey published last week showing that half of voters don’t know that presidential candidate John McCain is pro-life on abortion or that Barack Obama is pro-abortion.
The survey shows that, when pro-life voters know that information, they support McCain by a three-to-one margin.
Pew found that just 52 percent of voters rightly identify Obama as pro-abortion (“pro-choice” in the poll’s terminology”) and only 45 percent know John McCain is pro-life on abortion.
Among pro-life voters who know where the two candidates stand, McCain trounces Obama by a whopping 70-24 percentage point margin.
Shockingly, Obama has a one percent lead (43-42 percent) among pro-life voters who are uninformed about their abortion positions.
If you’re pro-life, be sure to spread this message to your pro-life friends.
