White rice consumption linked to increased risk of diabetes

In continuing coverage, the Time “Healthland” blog reports, “When it comes to your risk of diabetes, a new study by Harvard researchers suggests that eating less white rice could make a difference.”

HealthDay reports that investigators “reviewed the findings of four previous studies conducted in the United States, Australia, China and Japan.”

The investigators “found a strong association between eating white rice and type 2 diabetes, and the link was stronger in women than in men, according to the study published in the British Medical Journal.”
